One of those stranger days....

Every now and again you have one of those days when you cover certain news stories that take you slightly by surprise. A day where your not quite sure what on earth is going on. 'Am I actually awake!' or 'Is this actually happening!' are two particular quotes I've most certainly said to myself on occasions. And last Monday I must of said these to myself on a number occasions throughout the day.

As the norm, I walk into work to view the jobs on the board which normally range from the dull political to the slightly more exciting 'someone's got something to promote, so we'll interview them' type stuff. On this occasion I noticed the board said 'Naked Ladies/Hyde Park'. Now, I am in a steady, very happy relationship, but this I have to say was far more exciting then the normal Political mish mash.

On the arrival at Hyde Park it was revealed that 20 odd ladies/models/actresses would be stripping off and riding horses through the park in the name of charity..... And to promote the release of Lady Godiva on DVD. I have to hand it to the brave ladies (some braver then others and going fully nude whilst a small number did wear their lower half undies!) because on what was essentially a relatively chilly day in Central London, they did strip off and for a good 40 minutes, ride through parts of Hyde Park raising quite a bit of money for a Cancer charity.

It's definitely one of those surreal moments when you look up to find yourself interviewing a completely naked girl on a horse.

Back at base many people were joking that the day wouldn't get much better then that. But then an even stranger job got posted on the board. The houses of parliament had allowed a number of circus performers in to promote circuses' at a drinks event. We went to cover this strange story and were greeted by 2 'Vegas style' showgirls and a whole room full of politicians with contortionists, jugglers and clowns. Another 'Is this actually happening!?' moment.

So one of those stranger days.... and I'll leave you with a quote from the ITV Central reporter to a well known Lib Dem: "We all know that the houses of parliament are already full to the rafters with clowns. Do we really need any more?"

Good Point!
